Locals Stories

Every village has it’s charters and their stories to tell. Over time I will add in pictures stories of locals who have interesting tales to tell. For now I will have some pictures here and ‘slowly slowly’ as they say here build up this section.

The old ways are still here, with the old and the young

We have wood carvers, superstitious people, self sufficient farmers and air stewardesses who are home for the summer. There is a whole mix of people living in Breb and over time I want to tell their story.

The old ways mixing with the new

People who are 40+ grew up in the old way. They would not leave the village for anything, even when they died. Everything was here, their future wife, all the food they could eat for a lifetime and enough gossip from the village to keep them occupied for ever.

Traditions

There are many traditions that are alive and well in Breb. At christmas there is the local nativity play with monsters from the forest and the damsel in distress, a man dressed up as women, just like a good pantomime in London.
